The Pistons are in town, and so is Jazz favorite Bojan Bogdanovic, who will be playing his first game against the team since prior his 3-year tenure. Utah tied the series 1-1 against Detroit last year, and hopefully things can change this year with a new core. Without Cunningham or Saddiq Bey, as well as having a 1-9 away record, Utah needs this bounce back win in order to be refreshed for a back-to-back two days from now. Beating a fully healthy Denver team yesterday, I wouldn't take a win for granted. And Jazz fans know to never underestimate Bogey either.
Things to note
The Jazz will be playing their second straight game without starting PG Mike Conley. The team conceded 17 total turnovers (most of them in critical moments) against the non-Paul George Clippers on Monday night, and the void of Conley definitely has it's presence in moments.
The Pistons, despite injuries, forced Denver to shoot a poor 5/19 from the field last night. Unlike Utah, Detroit's bench is rather large and versatile, which is perfect for finding opportunities to take a lead. However Detroit allows the 2nd most points per game, which works perfectly for Utah's 2nd offensive rating.
Coach Dwayne Casey has shown a preference to go with his veterans (Alec Burks, Cory Joseph, Bojan Bogdanovic) late game, and has full intention to win this game to get a confidence boost for his guys as they end their western road trip tonight.
