This is a great win for the Warriors, as they have their first winning streak this season, after beating Cleveland Cavaliers 106-101 at home. Will this be their turning point game in the season? I guess we will see.
Now let's get to grading Warriors players performance in this match! And who would be better to start with than:
STEPH CURRY
34 minutes, 40 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal, 2 turnovers, 4 fouls, 15-for-23 shooting, 6-for-11 threes, 4-for-6 free throws, 78.0% TS, +7
What's there more to say? Curry with another game that proves he is having an MVP season, but people are still underrating him. I don't like to say this, but he saved the Warriors once again. If only their start wasn't so horrendous.
How to even describe his game? With every game, he just keeps proving why is he the best player on the court. His numbers are video game-level.
He got in a tiny bit of foul trouble early and missed two free throws down the stretch. When those are the only nits to pick, you know you’re doing something right.
He led the team in points and plus/minus.
GRADE: A+
ANDREW WIGGINS
37 minutes, 20 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 block, 3 turnovers, 4 fouls, 8-for-13 shooting, 1-for-4 threes, 3-for-3 free throws, 69.8% TS, -3
Wiggins dropping another quiet 20 point 5 rebounds game. He is really proving to be the 2nd star of GSW. Have to give big up for hitting big shots.
I am surprised how he really didn't get one assist the whole game. But he had a great game outside of that.
Kerr benched Wiggins at 5:50 minutes left in the 4th quarter. Lol.
Efficient offense within the confines of the system is exactly when the Dubs are asking out of him.
He also had the worst plus/minus on the team.
GRADE: A-
JORDAN POOLE
34 minutes, 18 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 turnovers, 2 fouls, 6-for-13 shooting, 4-for-8 threes, 2-for-2 free throws, 64.9% TS, +2
He is still figuring out how to score. He is starting to figure it out, but he will get even better. He seems a little hesitant on his moves since he got called for a carry a lot of times last couple of games. But he turned it around a bit this game. He looked completely lost those first few minutes.
He kept the offense afloat, and that’s exactly what the Warriors need him to be, and down the fourth quarter stretch, they couldn’t take him off the court.
Still need way more from him.
GRADE: B+
ANTHONY LAMB
24 minutes, 10 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 fouls, 4-for-7 shooting, 2-for-5 threes, 71.4% TS, +6
I certainly didn’t see him supplanting Kuminga, Moses Moody, and JaMychal Green in the rotation, and it probably won’t last forever, but his performance sure is remarkable right now.
I can't believe he is only a two-way player. He seems like the most hyped guy on the bench every time, he brings the energy. I think there was a shot where he was the only bench guy standing up while the starters were in. He has got JTA vibes with him.
He put in the effort and it showed. He played awesome. I couldn't believe him on ball defense.
Even though he's playing well on the court, I still can't shake the feeling he is an alleged rapist… I just hope it's not true.
GRADE: A
KLAY THOMPSON
29 minutes, 9 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, 1 turnover, 2 fouls, 3-for-13 shooting, 2-for-7 threes, 1-for-2 free throws, 32.4% TS, +3
He is still getting his shot back.
His defense was pretty bad early in this one, but he stepped it up with some strong D against Mitchell late in the game. His iso defense has been terrific, but he struggles with fighting over screens. He seems to fall asleep off the ball. His mental game seems off lately.
GRADE: C+
KEVON LOONEY
30 minutes, 7 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks, 2 turnovers, 4 fouls, 3-for-4 shooting, 1-for-1 free throws, 78.8% TS, +6
With James Wiseman out of the rotation, and the Warriors hesitant to give Green too many small-ball 5 minutes at this point in the season, Looney being able to play true starter’s minutes without fading is huge. He proved once again why he should start. Wiseman has a lot of work to do before he is back in the lineup.
What I love about Looney is he has that leadership trait on and especially off the court.
Tied for the team lead in rebounds. I thought the Warriors would have a problem with grabbing rebounds but he and Draymond showed up.
GRADE: A-
DRAYMOND GREEN
32 minutes, 2 points, 10 rebounds, 13 assists, 1 steal, 5 fouls, 1-for-5 shooting, 20.0% TS, +2
Well, he is a truly unique player.
Can't believe he had 13 assists with 0 turnovers.
Even though he was so close to no points, he played great.
When Green plays defense like that, the Warriors become contenders.
He led the team in assists and tied for the team lead in rebounds.
GRADE: A
JONATHAN KUMINGA
4 minutes, 0 points, 2 rebounds, 2 turnovers, 0-for-3 shooting, 0.0% TS, -1
It’s been very tough going for him out there.
GRADE: D
DONTE DIVINCENZO
16 minutes, 0 points, 1 rebound, 3 assists, 1 turnover, 3 fouls, 0-for-1 shooting, 0-for-1 threes, 0.0% TS, +3
All he had to do is help Poole get going, and, well, he did just that. He was questionable for this one, but he did play some minutes. Didn't do a whole lot of things, but he was alright at his role.
