PREVIEW: Jazz @ Hawks

Can the Jazz improve to 10-3 against the Hawks, possibly without Trae Young?

The Utah Jazz (9-3) face the Atlanta Hawks (7-3) in Atlanta at State Farm Arena on Wednesday 7:30 pm EST. The Jazz will be looking to continue their impressive form and the Hawks will be looking to ride the momentum of beating the previously undefeated Milwuakee Bucks. The Jazz are coming off of a 139-116 win against the 2-8 Lakers in which they shot 55.% from the field and 42. from beyond the arc, in what was a monstourous offensive performance. The Hawks are coming off of a 123-115 win against the 9-1 Milwuakee Bucks, shooting an impressive 48.7% from the field and 44.8% from the three point line. Injury Report: UTA: Jarred Vanderbilt, QUESTIONABLE (Groin) ATL: Trae Young, QUESTIONABLE (Shin), Bogdan Bogdanovic, OUT (Knee) Key Players:

Hawks - De'Andre Hunter With Trae Young questionable and Dejounte Murray assuming the no 1 offensive option, it will be up to someone else to fill the shoes of the second option on offense. De'Andre Hunter has been averaging 14.4 pts, 4 rebs and 1.2 asts per game on 47.1% from the field and 41% from 3 and is playing better statistically than John Collins who many consider to be at his peak performance an all star calibre player. Hunter who was drafted 4th overall in 2019 has taken a clear leap this season and without the presence of Jarred Vanderbilt who is one of the best defenders in the league, he should be able to take advantage offensively.

Jazz - Jordan Clarkson Jordan Clarkson has been electric so far this season, averaging 18.2 pts, 4.6 rebs and 5.3 asts a game, shooting 44.4% from the field and 42.1% from three. In order for the Jazz to win this game they will have to not just expect a good offensive performance from Clarkson but also a solid defensive performance as he will have to be one of the main defenders on Dejounte Murray.

Prediction: The Jazz will be facing the 9th ranked defense and the 12th ranked offense in the Hawks whilst also having the 8th best defense and the 3rd best offense themselves, an impressive feat for a "rebuilding" team. Based on the fact that the Hawks even with Trae Young are statistically worse than the Jazz and that Young may not even play is probably a good indicator of who should win this match, despite playing in Atlanta, expect the Jazz to win this one. Betting Advice: The Hawks are favoured to win this match, however the odds against the Jazz are not high enough to counteract the high possibility of the Jazz losing this match, so the advice is to not bet on this match, but if you do, the Jazz are most likely the correct pick. Risk: 7.5/10 Betting Odds: Hawks -3.5, Over/Under 226.5.
